From a bond to a dream
My journey with horses began at a very young age, truly taking root around 12 when I started competing. My first partner was an older saddle mare, rescued from challenging circumstances. We nursed her back to health, and together, we embarked on a competitive career in 4H. I trained her in everything from side-passing to navigating moving bridges, winning numerous awards until her passing at the remarkable age of 42 in 2023. This experience revealed a profound talent and joy in working with and training horses.
Developing champions and nurturing talent
My passion continued to grow with other incredible horses. There was Bullet, a quarter horse I trained from a roping horse to a competitive barrel racer, boasting an LTE of $5000, we competed in cutting. And then Flicka, a registered American miniature horse, whom I raised and trained to pull a wagon and dominate 4H events across Mississippi for three years running. Watching riders like Fallon Taylor, Ambery Snyder, Trica Aldridge, and Katie Vans fueled my aspirations. I realized I wanted more than just to compete; I wanted to breed and train my own line of exceptional horses that would be sought after globally.
Our grand vision: more than just a ranch
My dream for Tulip Creek Ranch is expansive: a 100+ acre ranch with a luxurious 35+ horse barn, featuring a top-tier rehabilitation program, riding lessons, and a breeding program. We envision an overnight stay location for travelers with horses, offering respite for both rider and equine. We also aspire to provide meaningful employment for individuals in rehabilitation programs, recognizing the healing power of equine therapy, and eventually offer therapy for disabled people. For now, we begin small, with a 4-horse barn, a few acres, and an abundance of focus and determination to bring this grand dream to life.
